Interactions are used to track individual touchpoints with a particular Account or Contact. The concept is similar to Patriot's Journal entries with a type of call or email, but with added features and a higher level of accessibility. You can also attach Files to a specific Contact or Account.

From an Account or Contact, you'll find two options under the Interactions tab—Events and Tasks. These are similar, but have a few key differences.
For individual Interactions that have already happened or are scheduled and upcoming, you'll want to create a new Event. Start by adding a Related To object, if needed. For example, if you're talking to a Lead Advisor about Alpha Chapter, you would have the Lead Advisor in the Name field, and Alpha in the Related To field.
Next, select a Subject (ie, type of interaction), enter start & end dates, and a brief description of the Interaction with the Lead Advisor. Click Save and you're set!
If you need to set a reminder or add a to-do that's related to a particular Account or Contact, you'll want to create a new Task. The form is similar to Events, except that you'll have an upcoming Due Date and a current Status, to track progress.
When you're down the rabbit hole on a project and don't want to leave your current page to log an unexpected call, good news—you don't have to! In the top-right corner of the interface, click the ➕ and select New Event or New Task. This is a quick and easy way to log calls from anywhere in Salesforce.
When you open a Contact or Account in Salesforce, you'll see the Interactions and Staff Chatter tabs on the right-hand column. Click on Interactions, if it's not already active, and you'll see existing Interactions below the Create new... form field up top.
You can click Expand All to see additional details (such as Comments/Descriptions) for all the Interactions on the current object. The Refresh link can be used to load any newly-created Interactions.
