Chatter is our go-to spot for internal communications. Think of it as the staff bulletin board, scoped to a specific object—like a Contact, Chapter or Higher Ed Institution. Chatter can be found on the right column, when viewing a single object.

Chatter allows staff to communicate back and forth, about a specific record. Like a social network, Chatter allows you to post, comment, like đź‘Ť things and tag fellow staffers. The Chatter tab can be found on the right column, when viewing a single entry for one of these objects:
Contacts
Chapters
Higher Ed Institutions
When you add to staff chatter, you can select either the Post or Question tab. They're very similar to each other, but questions are displayed a bit differently in the Feed. You can format your text, tack on an image or emoji, and mention/notify other staff members by using the @ sign.
If you haven't already, be sure to add a headshot to your profile by clicking the placeholder image in the top-right corner, then clicking your name. This will make Chatter and other Salesforce interactions mo' better. đź‘Ť
Many record types—such as Accounts and Contacts—can be "followed." You'll receive daily digest emails that summarize staff chatter from any/all records that have been followed. You can also review these updates at any time, via your "What I Follow" Chatter Feed. Search for Chatter in the App Launcher to review company-wide & personalized Chatter.
To receive real-time notifications about records that you're especially interested in, consider leveraging your Streams. A stream allows us to group and follow Chatter around particular records. Check out the example in the sidebar for a tutorial on setting up Streams!
