Employment Histories are the jobs held by an individual Contact. Typically, an Employment History record is associated with an Account, which is the employer in this relationship. These Employment Histories are similar to the Professional tab (and Professional Positions) in Patriot.

The Fraternity and Sorority Identification (FSID) is a standard built by ChapterSpot, allowing Greek members to authenticate with ChapterSpot and other applications using a single account. When our members begin their onboarding via The Portal, they will be prompted to create an FSID.

General Accounting Units are fund accounts that can be setup for specific purposes. For example, Scholarship Funds, Leadership Academy Fund, and Chapter Fund. In Patriot, these records were referred to as Funds.

Groups are a flexible, generic label for our various member organizations. In Patriot, we had Chapters, Alumni Associations and Alumni Corporation Boards. In Salesforce, each of these are considered a Group, with a Group Type to indicate the nature of a particular record.

Group Fields are the individual data points for a group. Examples include Founding Date, Group Type and Status. These fields are similar to the Chapter Fields in Patriot.

Group Roles are the officer positions within a Group, and held by one or more Contacts at a time. Examples include Sergeant at Arms, Vice President and Lead Advisor. In Patriot, these records were referred to as Offices.

Group Status is a simple indicator for the type and status of an undergraduate chapter. Examples include Open, Closed and New Chapter. This field consolidates the ChapterTypeCode and StatusID from Patriot into a single field.

The Portal is a generic term for ChapterSpot's member portal, while our branded Portal is referred to as MyDeltaSig. It allows members to log in via their FSID, update personal information, search for brothers, submit officer changes, and much more. The Portal is similar to Patriot's Officer Portal, though HQ never used this platform.

Opportunities are any contribution an individual or organization has made to the Foundation. This includes pending and potential (ie, not yet paid) gifts and pledges.

Opportunity Contact Roles are the roles assigned to a donor, for a particular Opportunity. For example, an Opportunity might have a Decision Maker, Household Member and a Matching Soft Credit.

Organization Roles are officer positions or designations that a Contact can hold outside of a Group. For example, National President, Board of Trustees Secretary and Regional Commissioner.

Payments are individual gifts that count toward a particular Opportunity. For example, an Opportunity that’s in the Pledge stage might have no Payments at first; they can be added as money is received toward that Opportunity.

Relationships connect individual Contacts with Groups. For example, Meyer Boskey has a Group Relationship with our Alpha chapter. A Contact without any Relationships is typically considered a Non-Member. Relationships can indicate other types (ie, non-membership) connections as well, such as Volunteer Roles.

Relationship Status indicates the current state of a Contact's Relationship with a Group. For example, a Contact might progress from New Member to Active Member, in his membership at our Alpha chapter. This field consolidates the Membership Type and Membership Status from Patriot into a single field.

Relationship Type indicates the nature of a connection between a Contact and a Group. For example, a Contact might have a Relationship to one Group with a type of Member, and another Relationship to a second Group with a type of Volunteer.
