Payments are individual gifts that count toward a particular Opportunity. For example, an Opportunity that’s in the Pledge stage might have no Payments at first; they can be added as money is received toward that Opportunity.

Opportunity Record Types indicate and define the type of Opportunity made to the Foundation. Examples include Donation, Grant, Gift in Kind and Matching Gift. These are similar to the Payment Source field in Patriot.
